Capital Command is in early, direct work with founding departments. This page describes what's actually true in the product today, not a roadmap or a set of aspirational claims.
Data Ownership
A department owns the data it enters into Capital Command.
Data Separation
A department's data is only ever visible to signed-in members of that department, enforced at the database level, not just hidden in the interface.
Plan-Based Data Protection
Capital Command's paid-tier funding intelligence, budgeting, and apparatus-specification data is protected the same way: enforced at the database level, not just hidden from a lower-tier account in the interface. A signed-in user's own account cannot query around this by requesting the underlying data directly — the database itself withholds it unless that department's plan includes the relevant capability. This is Capital Command's own internal engineering practice, checked by an automated suite of more than 900 database security tests that is run before releases. It is not a third-party audit or certification.
AI Transparency
Capital Command uses AI in these features today: the AI Fire Chief Assistant; grant application narrative drafting, guided application interviews and narrative review; annual report and board meeting drafting; SOP, apparatus purchasing, recruitment and mutual aid drafting tools; and the knowledge assistant. It also uses AI internally to summarize changes to public funding program listings. Department features work only from that department's own information, are processed by Anthropic, and are never used to train AI models. AI output is labeled AI-suggested and unverified until a person reviews it. Funding matching and eligibility checks never use AI.
Deterministic Calculations
Core funding calculations, eligibility checklists, and financial figures are deterministic and rule-based, not AI-generated.
Demo Data Isolation
Sample and demo funding programs used for illustration and product demonstrations are excluded from real departments' funding matches by design. They never mix in with a real department's results.
Funding Data Coverage
Capital Command scans public funding sources daily: federal programs through the Grants.gov API, fire-service grant listings, and curated state programs. Coverage is expanding and does not yet include every federal, state, local, foundation or corporate program, so a department should keep using its other sources too. This product uses the Grants.gov API but is not endorsed or certified by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Funding Source Attribution
Funding programs are shown with their source and verification status. Program terms, deadlines, and availability can change without notice from the funding source. Capital Command organizes what it knows; department staff should confirm current details before relying on them.
No Guaranteed Outcomes
Capital Command surfaces potential and relevant funding opportunities. It does not guarantee eligibility, an award, a funding outcome, or an ISO/PPC classification change. Recommendations are clearly distinguished from verified, department-confirmed information.
