Funding Intelligence evaluates potential funding opportunities against your department's actual, documented capital needs — not a generic grant-database keyword search. For each potential match, Capital Command shows its reasoning (what the opportunity covers and why it may be relevant), tracks eligibility criteria as indicators to review, and identifies what information is still missing before an application is realistic. Opportunities are tracked from pursued through secured, so status lives with the need instead of a separate spreadsheet.

No. Capital Command is built to help identify relevant funding opportunities across federal, state, regional, local, private, corporate, and foundation sources — not only the handful of large, well-known federal grant programs. The goal is visibility into the full range of funding that might realistically apply to a specific department need, wherever it originates.

Where Capital Command uses AI, it's for draft assistance only — for example, helping draft narrative language from a department's own already-entered information. AI-drafted content is always clearly marked and always requires human review and approval before it's treated as final; it is never published or acted on unreviewed. AI never fabricates statistics, eligibility claims, or certifications. Core funding calculations, eligibility checklists, and financial figures are deterministic and rule-based, not AI-generated.

Yes, as a preparedness and organization tool. Capital Command helps departments track and organize the kind of information relevant to ISO/PPC (staffing, apparatus, and related department data) so it's in one place and easier to prepare with. Capital Command does not issue official ISO/PPC classifications and does not guarantee a rating or classification change — that determination is made by ISO/the relevant rating authority, not by this software.

A department owns the data it enters, and that data is only ever visible to signed-in members of that department — enforced at the database level, not just hidden in the interface. Sample and demo funding programs used for illustration are excluded from real departments' results by design, so they never mix in with a real department's data. Capital Command is a web-based platform with no on-site installation or infrastructure to stand up. Getting started means creating a department profile and entering your existing capital needs, apparatus, and equipment records — most departments can begin exploring the platform immediately on the Free plan, and paid plans include onboarding support to help populate and organize that information.

Your department's data belongs to your department. If a department leaves Capital Command, its data is handled according to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, which cover retention and deletion. Capital Command isn't designed to lock a department's own information behind the platform.

Capital Command offers six plans: Free ($0), Essentials ($4,995/year), and Professional ($9,995/year) for a single department; Municipal Command ($19,995/year) and Municipal Command Plus ($29,995/year) for municipalities running multiple departments under one account; and Enterprise (Contact Sales) for complex, multi-agency organizations. A 15-person department that needs full funding-lifecycle management — budgeting, multi-year forecasting, continuous funding matching, and application management — may be better served by Professional. A 60-person department that mainly needs to organize its capital plan and see relevant funding matches may be entirely well served by Essentials. Staffing model (career, volunteer, or combination) and apparatus count aren't how we differentiate these plans.

Essentials covers the organize/plan/discover layer: a documented capital plan, apparatus and equipment records with replacement planning, and funding opportunity discovery and matching. Professional adds the rest of the lifecycle — annual operating and capital budgeting (Budget Builder), multi-year capital and personnel forecasting, continuous funding matching with alerts, application management, and advanced reporting. The difference is how much of the planning-and-funding lifecycle you want the platform to manage, not how large your department is.

Municipal Command is built for municipalities running more than one department on Capital Command. It provides a parent municipality account with up to 5 department environments (Municipal Command) or up to 10 (Municipal Command Plus) underneath it. Each department keeps full control of its own capital needs, assets, and funding pipeline — nothing about how a department uses Capital Command changes. Municipal leadership additionally gets one consolidated, cross-department view of capital needs, projects, and funding across the whole municipality.

No. If a municipality that started with a single department later adopts Municipal Command or Municipal Command Plus, that department's existing capital plans, assets, funding history, and applications move with it into the municipal structure. Nobody has to re-enter data or start over.

Municipal Command and Enterprise deployments with multi-department or multi-agency needs can discuss SSO, API access, and data migration directly with our team, but for the vast majority of departments, day-to-day use requires nothing beyond a normal internet connection and a browser.
